COVID-19 Operations

Please note:  Royalty Centre operations are subject to change at any time.  We will be following the rules and recommendations of the Chief Public Health Office.

Masks
As of Friday, November 20, per an order by the Chief Public Health Office, all persons must wear a mask while present in a public place.  Therefore, masks are required while in the Royalty Centre.  This will include, but not limited to: hallways, washrooms, and meeting rooms.

The Royalty Centre is open effective May 29, 2020.

Any visitors (this includes board members, contractors, clients, etc.) to the building who are not employees of tenants are being asked to sign in and sign out at the main entrance for contract tracing purposes.  No one should enter the Royalty Centre unless they can attest that they have not been outside of Atlantic Canada within the last 14 days and are not required to self-isolate and do not have any symptoms of COVID-19.

As of Monday, December 7th, in light of new directives from the Chief Public Health Office, public access to the Royalty Centre is permitted only if it is not possible to access the service virtually or by phone.

The following highlights our operations, as of September 6, 2020.

1.  Hours of Operation (*NEW*):
 Effective December 7th-December 21st

Monday - Friday         7:30 am - 6:00 pm
Saturday and Sunday         CLOSED

All exterior exits are locked, we ask anyone who does not have keys to an exterior door to use the main entrance.

Meeting Rooms
(*NEW*)  As of Monday, December 7th until December 21st, all meeting rooms are now CLOSED to the public.

The Chief Public Health Office is recommending that individuals work from home where possible and with the support of their employer.

2.  Social Distancing
In order to maintain social distancing, we will have signage placed around the building to remind tenants of proper measures.

3.  Illness/Exclusion Policy

All tenants are asked to self-monitor for symptoms of their staff and report the Royalty Centre management if they have any concerns about possible COVID-19 exposure or symptoms.   Any persons who develop symptoms of COVID-19 must report immediately to management, avoid contact with other persons and leave the Royalty Centre.

Symptomatic persons will be required to self-isolate until tested for COVID-19 and results are confirmed.   If the person’s test is negative but remain ill or symptomatic, they should continue to avoid the Royalty Centre.

Symptoms of COVID 19 include:
  • Cough (new or exacerbated chronic)
  • Headache
  • Fever/chills
  • Sore throat
  • Marked fatigue
  • Sneezing
  • Congestion
  • Body Aches
  • Runny Nose

4.  Cleaning and Disinfection

The Royalty Centre Staff will be using an approved disinfecting solution for COVID-19 in all common areas (shared between tenants) and highly touched areas at least twice daily, as recommended by the Chief Public Health Office (CPHO).

It is the tenant’s responsibility to clean and sanitize their work areas.

5.  Hand Washing / Sanitizer stations

In order to prevent the spread of COVID practicing good hygiene is essential.  To protect yourself and others please take these precautions:

  • Wash hands with liquid soap and water for 20 seconds often (in addition to routine times such as after using washroom and before eating);
  • Cough/sneeze into you elbow or tissue;
  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth;
  • Use alcohol based hand sanitizer when liquid soap and water is not available.

There will be several hand sanitation stations set up throughout the building.  All hand washing stations are located in washrooms.
